Description
- Manage the financial reporting and reconciliation of capital projects and fixed assets.
- Prepare accurate and timely capital expenditure budgets and forecasts.
- Collaborate with project managers to ensure compliance with financial policies and procedures.
- Maintain and update the fixed asset register, ensuring accuracy and completeness.
- Provide detailed analysis and insights on capital spending and variances.
- Support the preparation of audit schedules and liaise with auditors as needed.
- Ensure compliance with relevant accounting standards and regulations.
- Assist in the implementation of process improvements for capital accounting functions.
Profile
A successful Capital Accountant should have:
- A professional accounting qualification such as ACA, ACCA, or CIMA.
- Experience gained in Estates, Housing Associations or Construction would be ideal.
- Strong experience in capital accounting or financial reporting.
- Proven knowledge of fixed asset management and capital expenditure processes.
- An analytical mindset with excellent attention to detail.
- Proficiency in financial software and Microsoft Excel.
- The ability to work collaboratively within a team-focused environment.
